- Discovery Center has 11 different Galleries and over 200 hands-on exhibits that all ages will enjoy.
- You can a reserve a room (additional fee) and have your students and chaperones bring their lunch.
- Discovery Center has over 20 different programs that you can add to your field trip.
- Discovery Center educators hold a bachelor's degree or higher in a science field.
Plan Your Field Trip
Hours of interactive science and cultural exploration enrichment. Enrich your field trip with additional activities such as HighWire Bike and one of our 30 minute classroom programs. Be sure to download the registration form, pick three dates you would like to visit and fax to Megan West at (417) 862-6898.
- Choose your program. Check the description carefully to make sure the type of field trip & class chosen is appropriate for your grade level and group size.
- Pick a date. Make sure to give us 3 alternate dates/times that will work with your schedule. We will call if there are conflicts.
- Complete the registration form. Please make sure to include all information requested so as not to delay the process. Please make a photocopy of the form for each group you are registering to keep for your records. Reservation Form must be submitted no later than 7 days prior to requested date in order to qualify for the group rate.
- The easiest way to hold your reservation is with a credit card. Cash or a check can then be substituted for payment on the day of your field trip, if preferred, for the actual number attending. We will charge a $20 fee against the credit card in the event your group does not show up or provide at least 1 week notice of cancellation.

- Requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. After your request is processed, we will send a confirmation e-mail, provided we have your address to do so.
- Cancellations/Rescheduling policies. Refunds cannot be issued for group cancellations made less than one week prior to the visit. Rescheduling must be done within 48 hours prior to the visit and the new reservation must be within 30 days of the original date.
